Patients who already have a Username & Password

If you have previously used the EMISaccess website to book appointments or manage prescriptions, you will need to make a slight change to your username as follows:

Previous Username = [Your AccessID / Previous Username]

New Username = [Your AccessID / Previous Username]_3113

ie: simply add '_3113' to the end of your previous username. Please note the underscore before 3113.

eg: Your new username will appear like this: 1234_3113

Your PASSWORD remains the same.

Patient access to their GP record

From April 2014 GP practices are required to promote and offer the facility for patients to view online, export or print any summary information from their records i.e. medications, allergies, adverse reactions and any additional information agreed between the GP and patient.

We are endeavouring to activate this system prior to March 2015

Summary Care Record

GP practices are required to provide an automated upload of any changes to a patient's summary information, at least once every working day, to the Summary Care Record (SCR).

The requirement is on the basis of the current definition of the SCR, i.e. the core SCR record contains medications, allergies and adverse reactions and uploaded on the basis of implied patient consent.

The SCR should only be viewed in emergency or urgent care settings with the explicit consent of the patient unless the patient is unable to give their consent (for example if they are unconscious).

This will be activated in March 2015.

GP2GP record transfers

There is a contractual requirement to utilise the GP2GP facility for the transfer of patient records between practices, when a patient registers or de-registers (not for temporary registration).

Practices should put these requirements in place as soon as possible after 1 April 2014 and must, by 30 September 2014, publicise its plans to achieve this requirement by 31 March 2015. Plans should take the form of a statement of intent made available at the practice premises and, if the practice has one, on its website.
